Projects
The Enrico Bernardi Machine Museum is actively engaged in the enhancement and conservation of the historical-technological heritage related to engineering and motor technology.Â
With restoration initiatives, new exhibitions and a widespread museum project, the museum promotes Enrico Bernardi’s legacy, involving students and enthusiasts in the discovery of historical machines and their evolution.
DIDACTIC MUSEUM – 2024
In 2024 the Didactic Museum, located next to the Bernardi Museum, will be renovated with an innovative layout, designed to tell the evolution of engineering techniques. The exhibition path will open with historical lathes, models of hydraulic machines, and will include archival images that illustrate the environment of the Machine Cabinet, a fundamental laboratory for the training of the first Paduan engineers. Particularly suitable for Technical and Professional Institutes, this museum will be a unique resource for discovering the history of machines and construction techniques up close.
WIDESPREAD MUSEUM STATION – 2023
Since 30 September 2023, a new station of the widespread museum at the Department of Industrial Engineering allows you to explore the history of the Machine Cabinet, directed by Enrico Bernardi. Thanks to a locomotive model and a steam engine model, visitors can discover unpublished pages of research and teaching at the University of Padua. Find out more about the station here.

Ongoing restorations
Several historical instruments from the Machine Cabinet and the annexed workshop are being restored. The lathes and drills will soon be followed by models of water wheels and turbines, which will find their final location in the Didactic Museum, helping to preserve and make accessible the technical history related to Paduan engineering.
