FOR SCHOOLS

The Enrico Bernardi Museum of the University of Padua offers an educational program designed for lower and upper secondary schools, with the aim of bringing students closer to the figure of Enrico Bernardi, pioneer of motoring, and his inventions that marked the history of mechanics.

Guided Tours: each guided tour leads students to know the historical, social and technical context in which Bernardi operated, analyzing up close engines, documents and models of the time. Interactive monitors and multimedia materials enrich the experience, allowing to explore original drawings, archival photos and details of the mechanisms designed by Bernardi, stimulating curiosity and questions.

PLAN A VISIT

Where to eat

Packed lunch: the museum does not have a place to allow the class to have lunch. In case of good weather, we recommend using the spaces of the Arena Gardens (1.1 km | west) or Prato della Valle (2.3 km | South-West). In all weather conditions, you can have lunch at the Cloister of Sant’Antonio (1.7 km | South-West) of the Basilica of Sant’Antonio. Here you can freely access a “picnic” wing designed for groups and equipped with tables and benches. It is also possible to book a large heated indoor room. The reservation must be made in advance by calling the sacristy at 049.8242890. For the use of both spaces, there is no fee, but an offer is appreciated.

How many classes together

The maximum capacity of the Museum is 20 people. For larger classes or for more classes it is necessary to book more time slots.

While you're here...

We recommend combining the visit to the Enrico Bernardi Machine Museum with the Giovanni Poleni Museum, where you can discover instruments and collections that tell the history of physics. A unique opportunity to explore two complementary paths, between motor innovations and scientific discoveries that have marked European technological progress over the centuries.
